So there is no color mathching problem with black furniture and an oak hardwood floor?

I have a grand two story victorian home built around 1890. It has two wrap around porches two balconies and seven fireplaces. Oh and it has a grand foyer and staircase. Just to give you an idea of the task I am tackling. Oh and I live in the south so not alot of snow. Anyway I need some unique and inexpensive ideas on how to decorate it.
