Brandon L asked:

I have black furniture in my family room and were gonna replace the floors in there. If we get carpet I just want to get a white colored carpet, but were thinking about hardwood floors. Would black furniture look fine on top of oak hardwood floors?
So there is no color mathching problem with black furniture and an oak hardwood floor?

Is it reading, viewing, gut feel or something else?
For all of you beginning home decorators buy Martha Stewart’s “How to Decorate”. You can have a nice home without a bunch of money.

Thanks.
Pretty much I’d like to find a video or photo example of different room designs, and just copy them in my own home. It would save time and I’m not the best decorator.

I was just looking for some movitivational/inspirational advice. I moved into this cool apartment nearly a year ago and still have not had time to get it the way I want it. In fact, I still have a few unpacked boxes lying around. I have a lot of good ideas on what I want to do, but just can never seem to execute them because I’m busy, broke or whatever. Should making a more livable/organized, and pretty apartment be a priority in my life? Has anyone overcome a similar problem and then felt their life change after they got a better organized and decorated home? How can I find the energy and motivation to do this because I do want my apartment to be more welcoming…so I can invite friends and family over? I know part of the problem is that I work two jobs and I am kind of broke. Your thoughts….

I have a grand two story victorian home built around 1890. It has two wrap around porches two balconies and seven fireplaces. Oh and it has a grand foyer and staircase. Just to give you an idea of the task I am tackling. Oh and I live in the south so not alot of snow. Anyway I need some unique and inexpensive ideas on how to decorate it. It must be tasteful as I live in the historic districs. Thanks yall for any help.

desertbloom55 asked:

I would preferrably like to order catalogs from them, but a website, etc. would work too.

So far I have found:
-Ikea
-Pottery Barn
-Pier one
-Z Gallerie

My husband and I are moving into a new house and we want to redecorate everything.

Any suggestions on where to find some great and affordable furniture would help out a lot!
Thanks!
